HANSA HEAVY LIFT completes the heaviest lift in the Indian port of Mumbai
“HHL Richards Bay” has set a new record at the port of Mumbai. In close co-operation the crew and the dedicated engineering team from HANSA HEAVY LIFT safely loaded five reactors (2 x 930 tonnes in Mumbai and 3 x 360 tonnes in Dahej) on board the “HHL Richards Bay”. This is the heaviest single lift ever to cross the quayside in Mumbai Port.
‘’This was a complex operation with many factors that needed to be taken into account, such as restricted depth of water, where the cargo could only be loaded on spring tides due to draft restrictions, and the complex nature associated with 930 tonnes lift. I am extremely proud of all HANSA HEAVY LIFT staff and crew involved in this operation, and due to their knowledge, planning and professionalism we were able to satisfy our customer needs in this very difficult project without any problems’’ explained Tomas Dyrbye CEO of HANSA HEAVY LIFT.
An additional factor to take into account on this voyage was the bad weather associated with the monsoons.
The vessel and cargo arrived safely in Paradip and the discharge went ahead smoothly and without incidence.
Tomas Dyrbye: "We have safely handled a highly complex project for our customer with a short lead time. It’s again proof that HANSA HEAVY LIFT has an experienced and highly qualified team as well as a modern fleet of P-class ships vessels that can do extra ordinary lifts."
HANSA HEAVY LIFT completed a complex port development project in Chile
The HHL Tokyo recently undertook a voyage where she carried a shiploader from Germany to a new loading facility in Punta Lackwater, Chile.
As part of the contractual obligations the vessel was employed to erect the shiploader in port. This operation required careful planning and pushed the vessel and the engineering capabilities to their limits. The vessel successfully completed the operation in less time than anticipated, with all parties pleased with the outcome.
HHL Hong Kong uses shortcut via Northeast Passage
Since the foundation of HANSA HEAVY LIFT early June last year a heavy lift vessel of our shipping company successfully passed the Northeast Passage for the first time. The “HHL Hong Kong” is nearly two years old and belongs to the P2-class. The whole HANSA HEAVY LIFT-fleet consists of 14 P1/P2-class and 7 F-class vessels. All vessels have the Finnish-Swedish Ice Class IA, which allows sailing on the Northeast and Northwest Passage.
The highly sensitive cargo was loaded safely for a Russian power station at the Dutch port of Rotterdam within a short time. It consists of a generator with a weight of 342 tons and a gas turbine with a weight of 314 tons. Especially new developed racks for the subsequent onward transport by land played an important role as a result the weight of the load increased by 60 tons each. For this reason the “COG” and the "lifting points" had to be adjusted in a short time. The power station components have been unloaded at Novy Port. From there the sensitive cargo reached its final destination Serow by a rail system aligned for heavy cargoes.
As usual the HANSA HEAVY LIFT team implemented the whole handling of this project professionally, quickly and safely according to the customer’s wishes.
