About

Since our company’s founding in 2011, HANSA HEAVY LIFT GmbH has quickly become a leader in the global heavy lift industry, boasting one of the youngest fleets in the market today. We are the carrier of choice for the super heavy lift industry for cargo weighing over 900 metric tonnes, with ships specially designed for the transport of oversized cargo that require maximum lifting capacity and outreach.

We deliver best-in-class engineering solutions to our customers all over the globe, particularly in the subsea, oil and gas, as well as the offshore wind farm sectors, thanks to our in-house team of naval architects, and structural and welding engineers with shipyard, offshore, and installation backgrounds.

Our vessels can operate in shallow waters, often out of reach for other carriers, and come equipped with onboard cranes that have a combined lifting capacity of up to 1,400 metric tonnes.

Our vessels hold one of the highest ice-class, E3 equivalent to Finnish-Swedish 1A (Russian Arc. 4)  which means they can comfortably cut through sea ice up to 0.8 meter thick. The vessels are compliant with the requirements of the Offshore Vessel Inspection Database (OVID). We are experts in sailing via the Northern Sea Route to the most remote ports in Russia.

Six Step Process

Our six-step process, combined with integrated marine solutions, one of the most modern fleets in the world, and outstanding engineering expertise, guarantees that your cargo is delivered safely, on time, and to budget.

1

Understanding customer needs

A single point of contact will deal with your initial enquiry and consider the details of your project. Before we quote for your project, our in-house engineering team will undertake a feasibility study.

2

Developing a bespoke solution

Our objective is to provide a state-of-the-art technical solution with a strong focus on safety. Our in-house engineers will develop a solution to meet our customers’ needs, and deliver the best commercial offering.

3

Preparing cargo transport

Our expert in-house teams work together to define the details of the project and generate a formal transport-engineering enquiry listing all relevant customer requirements and the necessary drawings, calculations, and plans.

4

Planning the voyage

We prepare and coordinate a safe and punctual voyage refining processes and calculations to the appropriate level of detail and nominate the vessel. We create an overall voyage plan and appoint a cargo superintendent and transport engineer for complex cargoes.

5

Delivery of our customers’ cargo

Your cargo is safely loaded, transported, and discharged, to budget and on time. We make sure that our customers are always up-to-date about any developments from start to finish of the voyage. A transparent and close communication with our customer is our first priority.

6

Striving for the best

We are committed to quality and conduct analyses of each project to assess how our services can continually be improved. We listen to our customers’ feedback in order to ensure continuous improvement.
