Challenges

  • Short time frame between booking and vessels arrival, therefore engineering had to be performed partly onsite
  • In order to accommodate the non-flat (protruding structures, pipelines below base frames) modules onboard the vessel, grillages had to be designed on spot and installed onboard
  • Very tight stow positions on deck in order to accommodate 4 modules up to 800 mt on deck
  • Complex rigging for single lifts with cog shifted of centerlines, involving up to 4 lifting beams and rigging weight of 165to under a single hook
  • Required hook heights challenging the vessels cranes to their max capacity in regards of lifting geometry
  • Deck extension to starboard and aft in order to accommodate all modules
  • Sophisticated stow plan in order to accommodate the required discharge sequence in China, as the modules were installed direct from HLV to FPSO#
  • Due to the sensivity of modules, weather routing was used and stringent limits for acceleration forces were set by manufacturer
  • The entire sea fastening was based on grommet and chain lashing
  • Additional measures were in place to tackle the obstructed line of sight from wheel house, including but not limited to: 2 add watch keepers onboard, bow radar installed and in use
